Everything you need

More than a check printer.

Simple enough to write your first check in minutes. Complete enough to keep every payment in order as you grow.

  • Looks like your business

Your logo, business name and address on every check. Six common check stock layouts, with stubs or three to a page, and a printer alignment you set once.

    Your own checks

  • A signature that belongs to one check

Sign with a code sent by text or email. If a check changes after it was signed, it prints with a blank signature line instead.

    Secure signing

  • Your bookkeeper writes. You approve.

Let a team member write checks, with the largest check they may write and an amount above which their checks wait for you. You choose who can sign, account by account.

    Team controls

  • More than one bank? No problem.

Add as many checking accounts as you have. Each keeps its own check numbers and its own history, and numbers never repeat.

    Unlimited bank accounts

  • Know where every check went

Search by payee or number, see each check's status, and download the register as a spreadsheet for your bookkeeper.

    Check register

  • Bring your old checkbook

Import past checks from QuickBooks, your bank or another check program, or from a PDF or photo of the old register. Numbers already used stay taken.

    Import old records

No more lost checkbook stubs

Every check accounted for.

Who was paid, for what, and where the check is now: waiting for approval, printed, mailed or voided. No digging through old checkbooks or spreadsheets.

Printed or mailed isn’t the same as cleared by the bank. The register keeps the day a check cleared when you have it.

The bigger picture

You built a business. Now give it a system that knows it.

XOchecks is one part of XOaos. Bring in more of your business, like papers, email, calls and money, and XO learns how it works: who your clients are, what was promised, and what is due next.

  • The next step is ready before you ask. The reminder, the invoice, the follow-up, already drafted.
  • The right person gets the task. XO knows each person’s job and hands work to them.
  • You decide. XO prepares and explains. People approve, sign and send.

Good questions

Wondering how it works?

You don't have to be a check-printing expert. Here are the answers owners ask for most.

Can I really print my own business checks?
Yes. XOchecks prints the whole check, including the bank line along the bottom that banks read, on blank check stock from your own printer. It uses the checking account you already have. If you're unsure, ask your bank; most take them like any other check.
Do I need a special printer or paper?
A laser printer works. Any blank check stock made for laser printers works; ask your bank if it has a preference. Regular toner is fine for most banks, and special bank-line (MICR) toner is a nice extra, not a must. Print the alignment test on plain paper first and XOchecks remembers the fit.
Do I need a new bank account?
No. You use the business checking account you already have. XOchecks is not a bank: it never holds or moves your money. The money moves when the payee deposits the check, the same as always.
Can I add more than one account and my logo?
Yes. Add as many checking accounts as you need, each with its own check numbers and history, and put your logo and business details on your checks.
Does XO ever sign or send a check on its own?
No. People approve and sign; XO fills the payee and amount in words and keeps the register.
Can my bookkeeper write checks for me?
Yes. You choose who on your team can write checks, the largest check each person may write, and the amount above which their checks wait for your approval. You also choose who may sign, for each bank account.
What if I'd rather mail a check?
Mailing is optional and priced when you send. XOchecks prints the signed check on security check stock and mails it by USPS, with tracking in your register.
Can I bring in my old check records?
Yes. Import a spreadsheet from QuickBooks, your bank or another check program, or a PDF or photo of your old register. You see every row before it comes in, and you can undo an import.
Do I need the rest of XOaos?
No. Start with checks. When it helps, bring in more of your business, like bills, papers and email, and XO ties them together.

Your next check could come out of your own printer.

Professional checks, signed with a code, and a register that remembers every one.
