I build for a living. I sign subcontracts every week, and most of my subs read Spanish far better than English — so for years the people signing my agreements could not actually read them. None of the software I paid for fixed that, so we built the tool I wanted. Then I kept moving the rest of my week into it.

The AI places the fields
On a pay application or a subcontract I press “Place fields with AI” and it finds the likely signature, initials, date, text and checkbox spots and places them for me to review before anything is sent. It reads text-based PDFs, and placing fields myself is always still there.
I do the first pass before my attorney does
When their contract lands, I read it with the plain-language explanation beside it and mark the changes I want — the document stays smart rather than a plain text file, and I switch editing on only to redline. Then I send my attorney a read-only copy, so the conversation starts from a marked-up document instead of a cold one. XOsign helps me understand what I am signing; it never decides for me, and it is not a law firm.
Negotiations move in rounds, not email chains
I send a round of redlines instead of another attachment. Each round records who sent what and the exact version each side reviewed, and when we finalize, that history is appended to the document as a certificate.
I compare instead of rereading
When three subs quote the same scope, I put the quotes side by side and look at what actually differs. Same with two versions of a contract — I want to see what changed, not read it twice.
Sensitive information stays on the record
Contracts carry prices, addresses and people’s names. The audit log is append-only — nobody, us included, can quietly change a row — every completed document gets a SHA-256 fingerprint anyone can check, and a team owner can require two-step sign-in for everyone.

The reason all of this exists. The person signing can turn on a side-by-side review in the language they read best, with a plain-language walkthrough — and they still sign the original document.
We build this in the open, with a small team and a lot of help from AI. Parts of it are still rough, and I would rather say so than pretend otherwise. Open a sample document and push on it.
