Acceptable use policy

Pre-launch draft. Final attorney-reviewed text lands before public launch. This page sets the ground rules for using XOsign.

The short version

Use XOsign for your own legitimate business — generating, sending, signing, auditing, and storing contracts and related documents. Don't use it to do anything illegal, abusive, or that puts other users or the platform at risk. And remember: XOsign is an information platform, not a law firm. Nothing here, or anywhere on the service, is legal advice. See our Terms of Service for the full agreement.

What you can use the service for

Generate, send, sign, audit, and store contracts and related documents (change orders, pay applications, lien waivers, NTOs, COIs, etc.) related to your business. Use the AI features to extract data from your own documents or documents your counterparty has shared with you.

Prohibited uses

You may not use XOsign to:

  • Do anything illegal in your jurisdiction
  • Upload, generate, send, or store content that is fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, abusive, threatening, or that infringes anyone's rights
  • Process documents you don't own or have permission to process
  • Impersonate any person or entity as the sender or signer, or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone
  • Forge signatures, falsify audit-trail data, or tamper with a document's tamper-evidence records
  • Upload malware, viruses, or any code intended to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to the platform or other users' data
  • Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam) through the signing or notification flows

No reverse-engineering or scraping

  • Don't reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the platform or attempt to derive its source code
  • Don't scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the service using automated means outside our documented API
  • Don't probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the platform, or breach any security or authentication measure
  • Don't use the service to build a competing product or to train a machine-learning model

Your account is your responsibility

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Notify us promptly at support@xosign.ai if you suspect unauthorized access. You are also responsible for ensuring the people you invite to sign have the authority to do so.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to any account that violates this policy, that poses a security or legal risk, or that we are required to act on by law. Where practical we'll give notice and a chance to cure, but for serious or ongoing violations we may act immediately. Your data-export and retention rights are described in our Privacy Policy.
